Yesterday Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. made the announcement that all Stargate fans have been anxiously waiting to hear.
Richard Dean Anderson, long recognized as the history making show’s glue, will be returning to his role as General Jack O’Neill for the new straight-to-DVD movie “Stargate: Continuum.”
The second of two scheduled DVD movie events, “Continuum” will bring a close to the continuing Ba’al saga that started at the early in the 10 Season franchise. Joining Anderson will be series regulars Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge, Claudia Black, Beau Bridges and Gary Jones, along with many of the long running program’s regular guest stars.
Anderson is said to already be in route to meet up with Browder and Tapping at the U.S. Navy’s Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station in the Artic Zone where location shooting begins in earnest in just two days.
“We’re thrilled to have Richard join us for Stargate: Continuum,” Brad Wright, co-creator, writer and co-producer of the Stargate franchise, said in an official press release. “As General Jack O’Neill, Richard brings both a sense of history and familiarity to the continuing adventures of the Stargate team. And we all recognize his value as the much-loved hero among the Stargate fan base.”

Actually, the Ori storyline is supposed to be wrapped up in the first DVD film, “The Ark of Truth”, which IIRC, does not have RDA in the cast. “Continuum” was supposed to be the second film and a separate, unrelated story.
I know there’s a press release about that in the inter-ether somewhere…I’ll try to dig it up…

You’re right. I meant to indicate the Ba’al storyline (as I have indicated in previous stories about the DVD releases). Sorry about that.. let me get my old man brain in gear and fix that. 😉
