The “Dead Silence” of Ravens Fair

March 10, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 13 Comments

From the writers, director and producers of “SAW” comes a new trip down terror lane called “Dead Silence.”

The setting is Ravens Fair — “a quiet place to live.” But, this sleepy hamlet has a terrifying secret. A past resident named Mary Shaw was a ventriloquist who went mad. After being accused of murdering a little boy the townsfolk hunted her down, tortured her, cut out her tongue and then killed her, burying her with all of her ventriloquist dummies and dolls.

Since that time Ravens Fair has lived on the razor’s edge of fear and death, haunted by the resurrection of Mary’s dolls that steal through the night killing whole families found the next morning with their tongues ripped out.

From there the tale move to present day and follows the tragic story of newlyweds into the darkness that is Ravens Fair’s “Dead Silence.”

This James Wan film gets its theatrical release on March 16 and stars Ryan Kwanten (Flicka), Amber Valletta (Transporter 2) and Donnie Wahlberg (SAW III).

When you enter the theater just remember — “You scream. You die!”

You got this wrong… Mary Shaw was a ventriloquist who lived in a theater in which she performed at. One day while she was performing a little boy yelled out he say he mouth move. Later on he dissapeared and the relatives of the boy and some of the towns citizens forced her to scream then cut her tongue out. In her will she wished for all 101 dolls to be buried with her. She didn’t die though she came back to kill all who silenced her and there’s wives, there children, there childrens children, etc. The boy who went missing was Michael Ashen. The story is reflected on the last Ashen, Jamie. The legend is if you see her dolls and whatever scary thing she does to make you scream….. if you scream, shell rip out your tongue and kill you. If not she won’t.

Beware the stare of Mary Shaw,
She has no children only dolls,
And if you see her do not scream
Or shell rip your tongue out at the seam.

actually, mary shaw was smart, she knew that she had to kill the whole line of ashen’s so she lured Jamie back home by killing his wife, and in turn killing a future Ashen. Mary Shaw had possed herself a body which we found out later was his father’s Wife. his father was actually never alive Mary shaw’s spirte had killed his father and then making him a doll himself so whenever jamie came around she made him seem real. end the end jamie ends up getting killed so sad.
