Henry Gale a Good Guy? NOT!

September 28, 2006 By Sam Sloan 6 Comments

2006_04_11_LostHenryGale.jpeMichael Emerson, the actor who plays the enigmatic leader of The Others, Henry Gale, on ABC’s “LOST” said in an interview with The Associated Press (AP) that the show would be making some interesting moves this season, which began last night in the US.

Emerson said the show will move both “geographically and spiritually to another place.” That other place will be more time spent with the elusive and mysterious group of folk who live on the other side of the island fans have come to know as The Others.

Emerson also said that his character, Gale, really believes he is one of the good guys. “He means it,” Emerson said. “We may not agree with him, but I think he means it.”

Well, if you have been one of the millions of fans that have made “LOST” a bonafide hit for ABC, then that claim may be a very hard pill to swallow.

In Gale’s and his followers’ defence Michael added, “The Others seem so frightening – everything in the real world is frightening when it’s unknown. Their agenda is unknown to us, therefore we fill it up with terrible imaginings.”

Well Michael that statement may be all well and true, but Gale is just plain creepy.

“LOST” airs every Wednesday on ABC and has five more episodes before going on a short hiatus to make room for Taye Diggs’s SF Cop drama “Day Break” in November. “LOST” will return to complete its full season in January 2007.

I’m gonna be pissed if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Lost start next Wednesday, on October 4th?

    Please tell me I’m right!

There was a clip show last night (narrated by Michael Emerson) which I suppose could technically be considered the start of the new season, even though it really didn’t offer anything new at all.

The new season officially began Sept. 27th, doing what LOST has done each new season – giving a complete diary of “LOST – so far” to bring everyone, including new viewers up to speed. Never-before-seen new episodes begin October 4th.

As far as ABC is concerned the new season began this week, but as far as new episodes is concerned – next week.

Whew! I don’t mind missing the “Previously, on…” episodes, just as long as I don’t miss the new stuff.
