Bakula Makes First Ever Star Trek CON Appearance

July 19, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 2 Comments

In a very rare move on the actor’s part, Scott Bakula will be making his first convention appearance since taking on the role of NX-01 Enterprise Captain Jonathan Archer.

Bakula has signed on as a guest at Creation Entertainment’s 5th Annual Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas on August 20, 2006 at the Las Vegas Hilton. He will also sign autographs and do photo ops with fans (separate tickets from Creation Entertainment are required for these ops). The specific schedule will be posted on the Creation site closer to the event.

Bakula joins William Shatner, Avery Brooks and Kate Mulgrew as the fourth of five captains to take part in the 40th anniversary celebration. Patrick Stewart, who very much wanted to attend this historic occasion, has contractual committments in England performing for the Royal Shakespeare Company during this event.

Bakula also joins many of his old shipmates such as Jolene Blalock, Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating, as well as his executive producer Brannon Braga.

A STAR TREK who’s who will be in attendance including, Leonard Nimoy, Jonathan Frakes, George Takei, Brent Spiner, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, Diana Muldaur, Robert Foxworth, Andrea Martin, Mariette Hartley, William Campbell, Carel Struycken and Robert Justman.

The full 40th Anniversary Vegas Celebration will take place for four days starting August 17-20, 2006.

Despite the fact that there is no Star Trek show currently on the air, this convention — which is exclusively Trek — is selling tickets at a faster pace than ever before. Some of the higher-end packages are already sold out, but there are still weekend passes and general admission daily tickets available.

For full information, visit Creation’s Las Vegas Convention page linked above.
