To commemorate Richard Dean Anderson’s overwhelming contribution to the “Stargate SG-1 franchise he was awarded a special “Golden Stargate Award.”
>All the members of the original cast shared in Anderson’s award presentation and were cited as well in the award presentation as monumental in making the series and franchise the record breaking 10-year hit that it has been.
The award was presented by Legends Memorabilia president Paul Brown as part of the program’s celebration of its tenth anniversary. Anderson was singled out for contribution as not only the original lead of the show but also its Executive Producer.
Golden Stargate displays were handed out to original cast members Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson), Amanda Tapping (Lt Col Samantha Carter), Christopher Judge (Teal’c), Don S. Davis (Gen. George Hammond), as well as guest star Teryl Rothery (Dr. Janet Fraiser).
Behind the camera staff such as executive producers/writers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, received Golden Stargate awards also.
Stargate SG-1’s tenth unprecedented season premiers July 14, 2006 in the U.S. market on The Sci-Fi Channel.

This is awesome, I believe the Stargate franchise has some long legs. Itll be on the air for many more years.
Oh and I believe the correct term for Teryl Rothery’s position would be series regular.
I also hope the franchise has a very long stride that will continue for many years to come. It, along with Atlantis, are two of the best programs on television.
Rothery was never billed as a series regular. She was a guest star on every appearance she made, (which was extensive). The same is true for Gary Jones (Walter), Tony Amendola (Bra’tak) and until Season 10 Claudia Black (Vala). Black returns in Season 10 as a new series regular.
The staff considered series regulars were all the members of the SG-1 Team, including Corin Nemec (even though his was a short run), Don S. Davis (Hammond) and Bea Bridges (Landry).
