“Dresden” Gets the Go Sign

May 23, 2006 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

The Sci-Fi Channel has given the Nicolas Cage produced weekly series “Dresden” a go for 11-episodes which will be first seen this coming January 2007 in a two-hour pilot debut.

blackthorne1.jpgThe series will star Paul Blackthorne as Harry Dresden, a Chicago-based private detective who has the powers of a wizard and uses them freely as an aid to his investigative skills. Blackthorne has appeared in several TV hit shows over the years including “ER,” “Presido Med” and most recently in NBC’s “Medium” and as a semi-regular on Fox’s “24” starring as Stephen Saunders.

Along with Cage as producer, the show comes with a high pedigree that includes director David Carson, screenwriters Hans Beimler and Robert Wolfe who will also serve as executive producers along with Norm Golightly and Morgan Gendel.

No matter how good the series will be, it still won’t beat the novels themselves!
