Bram Stoker Sequel Rises From the Grave

May 3, 2006 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

The descendents of the famous “Dracula” author Bram Stoker have given their permission for a film sequel. This unprecendented move is the first time this has happened since Bela Lugosi starred in the original Dracula movie nearly 75-years ago.

This follow-up film “The Un-Dead” will take place 25-years after Stoker’s first novel. Those who survived his first telling will have an appearance in this film with the addition of another Stoker character, an Inspector named Cotford, who was edited out of his original manuscript.

Jan de Bont has been set to produce the long-in-coming sequel and is currently hunting down a suitable director, while Ian Holt is set to write the screenplay. Also attached to the film with Bont’s Blue Tulip Productions is Atchity Entertainment.

de Bont is scouring the world for location shoots, including Transylvania, Romania and, of course, the real Dracula’s castle, which today, while still a tourist attraction, lies in ruins.
