The BBC is reporting that the faithful K-9 of the Doctor Who series will be getting his own gig on the Jetix Europe Children’s Television Channel.

The series will feature K-9 in an up-to-the-date re-imagine of the mechanical character who first burst on the scene in 1977 with Tom Baker in the role of the Doctor. The new show will be a combo of live-action and CGI with K-9 co-creator Bob Baker teaming up with Paul Tams.

K-9 also returns to the new Doctor Who series with David Tennant and Billie Piper in tomorrow’s (April 29) episode on the BBC.
