Silent Hill: “Enjoy Your Stay; We’ve Been Expecting You!”

April 21, 2006 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

“Silent Hill,” the Christopher Gans horror film premieres today (April 21, 2006) and is expected to soundly unseat “Scary Movie 4” from its perch atop the number one movie pinnacle.

The story about a woman whose daughter is dying of a fatal disease forces her to go against the wishes of her husband (Sean Bean) and flee out of town in search of a faith healer.

Her quest takes her and Sharon, her daughter, through a portal of space and time that transports them both into the deserted town of “Silent Hill.” Once there, Sharon comes up missing and Rose (her mother) frantically searches out the ghost town looking for her only to come across a myriad of strange creatures and just as strange human inhabitants. The plot thickens as Rose, in order to save her daughter, must make a demonic pact.

Critics are already hailing “Silent Hill” as one of the best horror movies to come along in years.

The film stars Radha Mitchell as Rose, Jodelle Ferland as her daughter Sharon and Alice Krige as Valtiel The Yellow God.
