The SciFi Channel’s popular and gripping scifi drama “Battlestar Galactica” has done something very few other scifi TV programs, including its predecessor, can boast of.
This summer on June 5, 2006 The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart will host the 65th annual George Foster Peabody awards from the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York and “Battlestar Galactica” will be honored at this year’s event.
The Peabody, headquartered at the University of Georgia, Henry Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication has, for the past 65 years, been in the forefront of recognizing excellence in broadcasting, cable and webcasting.
This is one of the most prestigious awards that any entertainment, news and journalistic program can win and it is so thrilling that those at The Peabody appreciate and recognize the important contribution to entertainment programming that The SciFi Channel, Ronald D. Moore, his crew, and the entire cast of BSG bring into viewer’s homes each and every week.
