Pauline Collins OBE has been confirmed as joining David Tennant and Billie Piper, to play Queen Victoria in a story called “Tooth And Claw.”
The 65-year-old actress is known for numerous television appearances, including “Upstairs and Downstairs” and “The Liver Birds.” She even appeared in several early episodes of Doctor Who, nearly 40 years ago! But Pauline’s most famous role was in the 1989 movie Shirley Valentine, for which she was nominated for an Oscar.
Meanwhile, actress Sophia Miles – famous for her role as Lady Penelope in last year’s Thunderbirds movie – has been cast as Madame de Pompadour in Episode four, called “The Girl In The Fireplace.”
Both stories can be seen in the next series of Doctor Who in 2006.
