Boy or boy did Fox ever screw up! I cannot believe the amount of exposure and press that The Sci-Fi Channel is getting over the upcoming release of the new Joss Whedon movie “Serenity” based on the cancelled FOX TV show Firefly.
Sci-Fi Channel was smart. They picked up the cancelled show and started offering it in the “Sci-Fi Friday” slot just before Stargate SG-1, almost ensuring an eager audience with that time placement. All this past month they have been airing commercials for the movie Serenity, not only during Sci-Fi Friday but also Sci-Fi Wednesday, capturing even a bigger audience.
Now they will be offering a special program of a “Behind the Scenes Look” at the making of Serenity, hosted by Adam Baldwin, the actor who plays the oft slow, obvious but reliable character of Jayne on the TV show and the big-screen feature coming to theaters at the end of this week.
So on an “on-the-ball meter” of programming genius that would be FOX -ZERO and The Sci-Fi Channel – a BIG 10!
Look for it this Tuesday, September 27th 10PM EDT/9PM CDT
