John Fiedler, known to Star Trek fans as Hengist, the weasly administrator of Argellius II who was actually possessed by an evil entity known as Redjac, has died of cancer. He was 80.
Fiedler was perhaps even more well known as the voice of Piglet in Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh” features and shorts. Fans of The Bob Newhart Show will remember him as Mr. Peterson, one of the TV psychologist’s therapy patients.
Fiedler was known for what he called the “milquetoast, nerd parts.” He had a distinctive voice that singled him out from the crowd. Fiedler’s movie credits include “12 Angry Men,” “That Touch of Mink,” and “True Grit.” His numerous TV rolls include Gunsmoke, Bewitched, Fantasy Island and The Twilight Zone.
