NBC Adds Six Episodes of “Chuck”

October 29, 2009 By Michael Hickerson 5 Comments

If you’re a “Chuck” fan, we’ve got a lot of really good news for you today.

First up, those of you pining for your season two DVDs (I’ve had mine on pre-0rder since April), we finally have a release date.  The discs will hit stores on January 5, 2010.

chuck_sarahAnd with the news that the DVDs are coming, that must mean that the return of “Chuck” will be sooner rather than later.

We reported a few weeks ago that NBC was considering bringing back team Bartowski earlier than the originally announced time frame of March.   Today we can confirm that “Chuck” will be back in January and that the season is getting an additional six episode order from NBC.

Reports indicate that NBC is contemplating pairing “Chuck” with “Heroes” on Monday evenings.

No word yet on the exact date “Chuck” will be back, but it could be fairly close to the DVD release date (based on the previous pattern of Warner Brothers program releases).  As soon as we know the exact date, we’ll bring it to you right here on Slice of SciFi.

I never could figure out the logic of waiting until a few days before the new season starts to release the DVDs. It doesn’t give new viewers time to get caught up. I like what FOX did with Dollhouse, they released the DVDs in July, so I got caught up before the new season.

Can’t wait till January, I just hope they don’t put the Season 3 premiere on Jan 18, (the day of the 24 4 hour 2 night premiere).

I think that Chuck season 2 is already out in the U.K. on DVD. Why then take so long for the U.S.?
