Adopt A Tribble at Comic-Con

Adopt A Tribble at Comic-Con

July 16, 2009 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

They’re cute, they’re cuddly and they love quadrotritecale.  And you can pick up your very own Tribble from the Paramount booth at the upcoming San Diego Comic Con.

The tribbles are being distributed to promote the upcomign release of “Star Trek: The Complete Second Season” on Blu-Ray.  Those who drop by Paramount’s booth can adopt their own Tribble and meet the man who created them, original writer David Gerrold.

Paramount is also sponsoring a contest for the newly adopted furry creatures.

Gerrold says he’ll be on the lookout for fans doing creative things with their Tribbles, both at the con and in photos that can be uploaded to CBS-BDLive.com.

The Tribbles were featured in one of the most popular classic “Trek” episodes, “The Trouble With Tribbles.”  The furry, always hungry and eagerly reproductive creatures turned up again in the animated series and on DS9’s “Trials and Tribble-ations.”

Paramount originally considered handing out Doomsday Machines to promote the second season but realized that one bad late night debate over Kirk vs Picard could result in more than just hurt feelings and a lot of property damage.

Reminds me too much of Donald Trump’s hairpiece for some strange reason. Must be just me.
