Original Trek Going Blu-ray

Original Trek Going Blu-ray

January 23, 2009 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Star Trek will enter the world of Blu beginning May 2009. At least that’s according to The Digital Bits website in one of their updated bits released today (original occured in Nov 08).

Although this cannot be confirmed by any of our sources at Paramount or CBS, Inc., I tend to believe their report since rumors have been flying for over a year now that Paramount has been itching to get the original “Remastered” series and all six of the original cast films out in the newest DVD format in order to take advantage of the higher image quality to showcase their reworking of the original television series which ran for 3 years in the 1960’s on NBC.

While I’ll bite on this news, I will still leave the May date open for speculation until I hear something more foundational from CBS Paramount sources.

I hope they take the time and effort to due it right. It would be a shame for Paramount to half ass something and expect the fans to suck it up just because it’s Blu-Ray.
