Empire Recreates Classic Trek Photo

October 29, 2008 By Mike Hickerson 6 Comments

Actors Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine have helped Empire Magazine recreate one of classic Star Trek’s iconic publicity photos for the cover of this month’s issue.  Below are comparisons of the two images, courtesy of Empire‘s website.

The new issue goes on sale in the UK Thursday and includes new photos from the upcoming J.J. Abrams’ directed “Star Trek.” Empire has put three preview images on their web site for fans to enjoy.  Among the photos is one of Zachary Quinto as Spock in front of the viewscreen for the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Wow! I can’t begin to describe how DIFFERENT these images are. They managed to capture the wrong angle, the wrong lighting, the wrong expressions, the wrong postures! I’m surprised they managed to place Spock on the left!

Someone obviously forgot to show the photographer the original picture. This is not even close! I only hope this is not a bad omen.

I knew… I knew… I knew the bimbo they would cast to “represint” the iconic Bill would be nothing more than a glamour bo-ey! I knew he would cheat the measuring stick too! Hollywood : Resume search. Push her for all she can give!
    Fly her apart,then!
    Word to the Pine ma-ma!

    Peace , out

SPock looks at least close to the the original pose, but it looks like Kirk was added afterwards cause he looks more Head on then angled down, but otherwise I like it
