Radcliffe’s Benign Brain Disorder

Radcliffe’s Benign Brain Disorder

August 19, 2008 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

Daniel Radcliffe, the young actor best known for his portrayal of Harry Potter in movies, recently revealed that he suffers from a little-known and non-fatal brain disorder called Dyspraxia.

The problem, though not well known by its name, is quite common and is a neurological disorder that can cause clumsiness, dissociative body movements, and the inability to perform certain ordinary tasks like tying shoelaces.

Though not very harmful, it can cause those suffering from it to have difficulty playing certain sports that require running when young, and can become dangerous in later years due to falling. It can impair some of its victims enough to prevent them from obtaining a driver’s license, however Radcliffe’s disorder isn’t that advanced.

This kid has the coold distinction of being Harry Potter, then he has this cool name, now he even has a cool sounding neuroligocal disorder. Sounds like an ultra hip club: “Welcome to Dyspraxia!”
