“Moonlight” Star Confident of 2nd Season

This is one of the stories we had to cut from this weekend’s show because we ran a tad long, but we wanted to give this further addition to the story we did earlier in the week here on the website.

Fans of the CBS vampire saga “Moonlight” may be happy to know that series stars Alex O’Loughlin and Sophia Myles are pretty sure that the show will be granted a second season.

In a recent interview they both stated that they simply can’t see how CBS execs would pass on it because the show has steadily performed very well, it has the necessary numbers that finds it consistently winning its Friday night timeslot, and more importantly, its winning the demographic CBS is shooting for. “And it’s like, well, what else do you want, asked O’Loughlin? There it is. Give us a shot.”

“I’d put pretty much all of the money I have in my bank account on the fact that we will get picked up,” Myles said. “I think that’s largely to do with the amount of fan support and dedication.”

O’Loughlin also put on his best vampire face and stated that if the network doesn’t give the show a second season then “blood will flow!”

In the interview he gave a little info that should wet the appetite of “Moonlight” fans. He stated that the final five episodes of season 1 will raise the stakes for all the main characters involved in the show.

It all began last night (Friday, April 25) in which his character private detective Mick St. John for the first time, “has to start seriously thinking about his level of exposure in the public eye, because when a vampire gets too overexposed, they have to change cities, change names, do all that stuff.” The final season one episodes start dealing with that sort of stuff with Mick, and his rich vampire friend Josef, played by Jason Dohring. The series will close out with a cliffhanger, including the revelation that Mick has a son out there who is now twice his age.

O’Loughlin reveals a bit about the final season one cliffhanger too. For the final episode of the season, he said: “The one I just finished shooting…is really cool in the sense that what happens is the vampire community is in danger of being exposed for what we are. And what happens is Mick has to get all the vampires together. So Guillermo, the cleaners, Josef, Logan. And it’s the first time we’ll see all the vampires come together to do something.”

“Moonlight” airs every Friday night on CBS right after “Ghost Whisperer.”

I dunno… I was pushing for more Moonlight, but then 1×13 came along and it wasn’t particularly good. I haven’t seen 1×14 but hopefully the show is gonna lift its game again.

Many fans were freaking out Friday night, since it said there were only two more episodes. It didn’t say season finale or anything, just: only two more. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for someone to post something, so thank you!!! I’m glad to hear they only mean for this season. ^_^
