Duchovny Says…….Nothing Really!

August 20, 2007 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

While promoting his new Showtime comedy “Californication” with TV Guide On-Line, David Duchovny slipped in a few details about the second installment in “The X-Files” franchise.

TV Guide: Speaking of which, have you seen an X-Files 2 movie script?
Duchovny: I haven’t seen it. I’m a little behind there, but it’s in the air. It’s nearby.

TV Guide: Has creator Chris Carter said what it’s about?
Duchovny: I have vague ideas, but they’re so vague that I wouldn’t be able to say anything that would make any sense. And I could be wrong.

TV Guide: Is Mulder a character you like revisiting?
Duchovny: Sure. I always wanted it to be a movie franchise. I never wanted to kill the character and leave the character behind, but I was tired of the grind of a television show. I thought it was a natural for movies.

Nothing really new or earth-shattering here. “The X-Files 2” is scheduled to being production later this year. No release date is scheduled yet.

Hey wait a minute David — Didn’t you tell us all on the 16th of July that the script for the next X-Files movie was complete and would be in the hands of you and Gillian within two weeks of that time?

What happened that you still know nothing?

I’m not suprised by this one bit. This is like Indiana Jones 4, for years and years they said they were gonna make it and it took forever to start shooting.

The same is happening with this. They’ll run there mouth over and over again, and get nothing done.

At least Indy 4 is finally filming.

    Sam,

David Duchovny said at the TV critics meeting in July that Chris Carter told him he’d have something to show him next week. That apparently didn’t happen.

So the person to ask about the delay(s) would be Chris Carter.

    How’s that Jonilee? 🙂

Well, CC is probably putting the finishing touches on the script, making it so great that….

OK, I couldn’t make it through that without laughing…
