10 Years of SG-1 For One Low Price & New Star Trek DVD Release

July 10, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 1 Comment

Come October 9, 2007 fans of the still very popular Stargate SG-1 series will be able to pick up the entire 10 seasons of the show on DVD for the ridiculously low price of $298.99 (U.S.). Not counting all the special bonus material that comes to only $30.00 per Season — not a bad deal actually.

The set comes with special collector’s packaging and we assume loads of bonus material, at least according to TVShowsOnDVD.com. It is hoped that some of those bonus extras will include all of SCI FI Channel’s behind-the-scenes specials from the past decade of the franchise’s existence and the recent Stargate SG-1: True Science and possibly never before viewed content.

startrek_captainslog_3d.jpgAlso on tap for release on July 24th will be another edition of the Star Trek Fan Collective DVD called “Captain’s Log.”

This 5-disc collection includes 15 compelling episodes from The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager and Enterprise, as well as an introduction to the collection by William Shatner himself.

Select episodes are given introductions by the different captains and interviews are compiled into various segments. Most of these landmark episodes were voted on by fans for inclusion in this package, however, a few of them were chosen by William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula as their personal favorites.

“Star Trek Fan Collective — Captain’s Log” will sell for the SRP of $42.00 (U.S.).

Previous editions of the Fan Collective series, such as “The Borg,” “Time Travel,” “Klingon” and “Q” have proven to be very, very successful.

I’ve always thought they should release a set with all the Q episodes. That would show how he had evolved over the course of the show and I’d probably buy it since I tried once or twice(before dvdrs)to put together a Q collection.
