Star Trek: Renegades – “Picture Is Locked”

Star Trek: Renegades – “Picture Is Locked”

May 2, 2014 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

The latest news from Tim Russ and the creators of Star Trek: Renegades is “Our picture is locked!!” That’s filmmaker talk which means the online film, which could be turned into a new CBS/Paramount sanctioned television or internet series, has completed its editing process.

Film editors Michael and Marc Linn (Imprint) have gone through at least six different “cuts,” each time making changes with feedback from producers, writers, director Tim Russ and other strategic crew members.

Next the product will be turned over to music composer Justin Durban (Star Trek: Dark Armada), Ralph Miller’s (Judas Kiss) sound team for ADR, looping, foley and additional sound effects that will bring the film alive acoustically.

The VFX team will be busy during the music and sound process with their job of making Renegades visually stunning with the inclusion of space scenes, starship passes, space battles, phaser beams, explosions and some secret fancy work with falling rocks (keep an eye out for that one).

Fans will get a first-hand look at a couple of the actors in Star Trek: Renegades at this years’s TrekCon in Springfield, Missouri at the Springfield Expo Center. Tim Russ and the ship’s Captain Lexxa Singh (played by Adrienne Wilkinson) will be on hand for questions, photo-ops and autographs.

Star Trek: Renegades stars Walter Koenig as Admiral Chekov, Tim Russ returns as both director and playing his iconic role of the Vulcan Tuvok, as mentioned above Adrienne Wilkinson is this Trek’s new captain. Also on hand are Sean Young (Blade Runner, No Way Out, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective), Robert Picardo as Dr. Lewis Zimmerman, Gary Graham as Ragnar, Richard Herd reprises his Star Trek: Voyager role of Admiral Paris and Manu Intiraymi returns as Icheb.

A strong supporting cast includes some very familiar names from the world of science fiction including Corin Nemec (Stargate SG-1), Bruce A. Young (Highlander: The Series), Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Green Hornet), Kevin Fry (300: Rise of an Empire), Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist, Dragonball Z, Star Trek Continues) and Grant Imahara (Star Trek Continues, Mythbusters). One fan favorite from the original Battlestar Galactica series makes a cameo – Herbert Jefferson Jr. plays Admiral Satterlee.
