Who Will Probably Get 4

September 16, 2006 By Sam Sloan 4 Comments

Solar Flare is reporting that Season 4 of Doctor Who is aready in the works. That is great news and here is a segment of what they had to say on the subject of the good Doctor:

Here I am getting ready for the US premiere of Doctor Who Season 2 and over in the UK Executive Producer Russell Davies is already talking about Season 4. Man I hate being so far behind on this stuff!

In an interview in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Davies apparently says that they are already planning for season 4. Although they haven’t officially been commissioned yet, Davies is optimistic and expects it to go ahead.

Davies says he expects all of the senior production crew (himself, Julie Gardner and Phil Collinson) to stay on for a fourth season. He indicates that all the feedback he’s been getting from the BBC has been positive. They’re happy about ratings (and why wouldn’t they be) and the general style of the show.

They’re so far on with planning season four that Davies says they already have the outlines for 9 episodes already in place. Though he does acknowledge that most likely some of those will change.

The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine went on sale in the UK on Thursday 14th of September.

Doctor Who Season 2 premieres in the US on SciFi Friday 29th September at 8PM ET.

Oh David will be there – he’s the biggest Dr Who geek of them all – and we love him for it.

Tennant signed a three-year deal with Who.

And that’s about the average lifespan for a Doctor…

I disagree! The lifespan of a doctor varies.

    William Hartnell 1963 – 1966
    Patrick Troughton 1967 – 1970
    Jon Pertwee 1971 – 1973
    Tom Baker 1974 – 1981
    Peter Davison 1982 – 1984
    Colin Baker 1985 – ?
    Sylvester McCoy ? – 1989
    Paul McGann (Movie) 1996
    Christopher Eccleston 2005
    David Tennent 2006*- 2008**

Therfore, the average span of a doctor is (including next year’s season) is 2.8 years.

David Tennant will play the doctor in Series 4, according to Wikipedia.

Russel T. Davies also announced that a classic monster (a monster from the classic series [1963 – 1989 + 1996]) will be returning. Personnally I believe it will be either an Ice Warrior, a Sontaran or a Yeti (not very likely)

Reader(s), you may’ve noticed that Russel has introduced the Dalek in Series 1 (2005), the Cyberman in Series 2 (2006) and the Master in Series 3 (2007)
