Yumy Odom (ECBACC president and founder) and Akinseye Brown (ECBACC Vice President and Event Coordinator) stop by to talk about the 25th East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, and the 2026 Glyph Comics Awards.
We talk about the origin and history of the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, how the Glyph Awards became part of the convention ceremonies, what events have been added for attendees over the years (AfriCoz is an culturally-focused cosplay experience), and working with the community to improve literacy and expand interest in reading, writing and drawing comics, and more.
The 2026 Glyph Awards are being announced May 9th at 3pm ET, and the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention itself will be May 16th, from 11am – 7pm ET at the Temple University Student Faculty Center.
