Director and writer Jane Clark talks about her supernatural queer romance, Witchy Ways, an indie feature that dives into relationships, found family, redemption and magic.

Jane talks about writing the story she wanted to direct, and finding the core theme of a story about a healing from grief and learning to trust and love again. She also talks about learning abut the witch community and wanting to respectfully represent their beliefs and spirituality. Jane also recounts some of the challenges of indie filmmaking, including finding locations and juggling casting changes, and the special effects for the magic and the ghost, and managing a short shooting schedule with her preference for using a two-camera setup.

Happy to hear that she’s planning to have a director’s commentary track, and possibly a sequel to Witchy Ways!

WITCHY WAYS is available now on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home.
