Director and co-writer Pierre Tsigaridis with co-writer and actor Maxime Rançon talk about their new horror feature, TRAUMATIKA, in theaters September 12 from Saban Films.
This story is a delightful example of an extensive use of practical effects while exploring an aspect of generational traumas being passed on. They paid particular detail to the costume and its design, hoping to enhance the fear it would create. Also, while the use of demonic possession isn’t a new story, they wanted to create a more universal connection to the demon rather than relying on any specific known lore.
They also talk about their writing process, wanting to move fast in developing this story to where they could begin to shoot the final product, but having to navigate the indie production schedules and festival screenings stretched out the theatrical debut until now.
