Rosarium Publishing has released a graphic novel compilation celebrating the return of Lion Man. The Adventures of Lion Man is a celebration of a long forgotten Black hero, and publisher Bill Campbell talks about the history and Afrofuturistic roots of Lion Man, and Rosarium’s work to pull this hero out of the vaults of history.

Appearing in only one issue in 1947, Lion Man was one of the first Black superheroes. Created by Orrin C. Evans and published in the only copy of All Negro Comics, this bold step into African heroes was lost to time. Until now.

In addition to reprinting the pages of the original story, there are 3 new Lion Man stories, plus a pin-up gallery of other public domain characters:

The Adventures of Lion Man (2025)“The Lion Outside”: story by John Jennings and David Brame, written by John Jennings, illustrated by David Brame
“A Plague on the Nation”: written by Bill Campbell and Yvette Lisa Ndlovu, art by David Brame
“The Tower (featuring Lion Man)”: written by John Jennings, art by David Brame
