Marisa Cohen and Peter Alexander of Interstellar Alchemists (and the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology) talk about their animated series The Cloaked Realm, dedicated to bringing new life to forgotten science fiction classics of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Marisa and Peter talk about finding these obscure or forgotten authors and their stories, such as Ambrose Bierce, Edward Page Mitchell and Stanley G. Weinbaum. The stories they adapt are in public domain, and they talk about the animation team, voice actors and sound design work that goes into creating these stories, and so much more.

All of these stories are hand-drawn animation, produced in 4K with Dolby Atmos, and the 10 Season One episodes are:
“The Knight and The Queen” (33 minutes)
“The Hat Trick” (29 minutes)
“A Man Rich in Tales” (30 minutes)
“Tunnel 23” (25 minutes)
“Thoth” (27 minutes)
“Tests, Truth & Tragedy” (23 minutes)
“The Martian Catalyst” (20 minutes)
“The Cloaked Realm, Part 1” (25 minutes)
“The Cloaked Realm, Part 2” (25 minutes)
“The Symbol Organization” (25 minutes)

The Cloaked Realm is currently in production and their Kickstarter is close to getting them fully funded. Episodes 1 and 4 have already been to film festivals around the world, garnering acclaim and awards.
