PBS Digital Studios has a new online series, “Monstrum”, that explores how monsters, mythology and lore mirror society and are an ever-present barometer of what we value and what we fear.
“Monstrum” host Dr Emily Zarka stops by to talk about the development of the show, the selection and presentation of each of the monsters, how the research from her own studies led to her focus on the variety of undead characters and creatures from the 18th and 19th centuries, and so much more.
It’s about bringing monsters to people in the same way that Anthony Bourdain brought international cuisine to everyone’s dinner tables.
And for complete reference: “Through the Wormhole” Season 5, Episode 6: “Is a Zombie Apocalypse Possible?” can be watched on Amazon Prime, YouTube Premium, and iTunes (watch the teaser here)
