Noah Wyle (ER, Falling Skies) is set to return to TNT for another trip down the archeology lane as Flynn Carsen for a new weekly series based on The Librarian TV movie franchise.
Wyle’s dance card is pretty full with production going full steam on the fourth season of the sci-fi success story called Falling Skies, his big screen film The World Made Straight which is in post-production and the upcoming Civil War television miniseries titled To Appomattox which co-stars Homeland alum Damian Lewis.
This new show based on The Librarian films has a working title of The Librarians. According to TV|Line this series will follow the adventures of four seemingly normal individuals that the Library has singled out as possessing certain very special talents conducive to accomplishing it’s mandate to unearth stolen relics, fight artifact piracy, keep secret the realms of magic and the paranormal while meeting the forces of dark conspiracy head on.
Wyle will star in the season opener as his Flynn character and make periodic guest appearances throughout the first season. He could return full time to the series depending on the success or failure of Falling Skies’ fourth season due to return to TNT on June 2014.
Showrunner Dean Devlin has not made an official announcement for casting the four main characters in the ensemble. There is also no word if Bob Newhart and Jane Curtain will make an appearance for this new endeavor.
Seems like it’s time to start following Dean Devlin on Twitter, as he’s having a grand time sending out teasers for “The Librarians”.
Christian Kane is on board. Be still my heart 🙂
