Steven Spielberg’s next dino outing has some major casting news. The pint-sized star of “Iron Man 3,” Ty Simpkins, has been chosen by the master filmmaker to be a headliner for “Jurassic World,” the fourth film in the mega-buck making franchise.
Simpkins, now age 12, is no stranger to the big screen. He began his career at age 3, has starred alongside major A-Listers like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Edward Norton, Colin Farrell and grand dame Barbara Hershey. He has over 20 films and TV appearances to his credit already and with backers like Spielberg, Robert Downey Jr. and DiCaprio his career is on the right footing to last beyond his teen years.
“Jurassic World” will be produced by Spielberg who has chosen Colin Trevorrow (“Safety Not Guaranteed”) to helm . Also set to star is Bryce Dallas Howard (“Spider-Man 3”). The film is set for theatrical release sometime in June 2015.
