The film that simply can’t seem to get enough remakes or different slants is the cult favorite and puppy that started it all, George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. George himself has made five spin-offs based on the success of this cult franchise. Filmed in my old stomping grounds on location around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1968 this film has seen its fair share of remakes and imitators but none have ever measured up to the original. Director Zebediah De Soto is hoping to change that with the latest Dead film he will be calling Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D.
Simon West (Expendables 2) will be producing but the biggest coup d’état for De Soto was the signing of Bollywood superstar R. Madhavan (Guru) for the lead. Joining him providing voice work will be Tom Sizemore (Heat), Danielle Harris (Hatchet II) and horror icon Bill Moseley along with everybody’s favorite Candyman, Tony Todd. These last two will reprise their roles in voice from a previous Night of the Living Dead 1990 remake.
The location of the plague’s breakout that causes mass zombieism moves from the farmland countryside of Western Pennsylvania to the heart of New York City. The entire film will be shot entirely using the latest in state-of-the-art stop motion, 3D, and near perfect CGI interface with green screen and Polar Express styled live-animation. This could be quite an interesting film to view simply from a technological perspective.
Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D currently in post-production is due for theatrical release in the U.S. by October 2014.

Sounds interesting, but if they use fast zombies, you can forget it being good.
Well, thinking about it, they could put in zombies which can jog, and it still be good. They just can’t use sprinting zombies, because that’d ruin it.
Fast zombies = Action
Action = Zombie kill fest
Zombie kill fest = Bad zombie film
Slow zombies = Drama
Drama = Emotional character development
Emotional character development = Good zombie film
Of course, a few films manage to have fast zombies with drama, like 28 Days Later.
Unfortunately, 28 Weeks Later, did not accomplish the same feat.
