To replace some its retiring series, Syfy is ordering up several new pilots.
Last week, we told you that the cable outlet had given the go-ahead to a pilot based on the classic movie 12 Monkeys.
For another pilot, Syfy is looking once again to the silver screen with a pilot based on the movie Legion. The series will be called Dominion.
The original movie was released on 2010 and reports indicate the series could fall into a dark-fantasy vein should it get a order. Syfy released the following official synopsis for the project.
Based on characters from the hit theatrical film Legion (2010), Dominion is an epic supernatural action drama set 25 years in the future after a war between an army of Angels and mankind has transformed the world. The series follows the perilous journey of a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity.
Scott Stewart, who directed the original film, will direct the pilot episode and will also serve as an executive producer.
Vaun Wilmott, who is also writing the upcoming Syfy miniseries Ringworldbased on Larry Niven’s sci-fi book series, is writing and co-producing the pilot.
