“Gravity” – Don’t Let Go!

“Gravity” – Don’t Let Go!

July 6, 2013 By S. K. Sloan 5 Comments

Gravity“Gravity” is a new sci-fi film starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. Filmed in 3D from “Children of Men” director Alfonso Cuaron, the story centers on two surviving astronauts left stranded in orbit outside the craft during a space walk after space debris crashes into their space shuttle destroying it.

This will be Clooney’s second attempt at making a successful outer space sci-fi film and Bullock’s first venture into Earth orbit. Clooney starred in the remake of “Solaris” in 2002 which was panned by critics and moviegoers alike. This one appears to be on the right track for being a hit.

“Gravity” will make its big onscreen debut at this year’s 70th Venice International Film Festival in Italy on August 28. It was shot on location at Lake Powell, Arizona in the United States and at the Shepperton Studios in the United Kingdom.

The U.S. theatrical release date has been announced for October 4, 2013.

I actually though on Solaris that Clooney did a great job acting. Just the story was flat. That said, his other movies have not really been any better. Maybe he should have stuck to TV. He was pretty good in Rosanne and ER.

I liked what he did with his roll in Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes.

I liked From Dusk Till Dawn and The Peacemaker. Haven’t seen Syriana or Good Night and Good Luck yet.

Something tells me we just watched the only interesting part of the movie.

The trailer already has a better plot than Into Darkness. Solaris was a fine movie, it was just sad. This looks sad too.
