The Lone Ranger might have been better if it was in Black and White just like the original series back in the ’60’s?? David Gerrold is writing Star Trek stuff for the interwebs but can you download any Tribbles? Lance Neutron gets a few words in, so do a few listeners that talk about things like Falling Skies, Sneaky Zebra offers up an Amazing Cosplay Music Video from London Comic Con!! There’s another unbelievable Lego story, there’s plenty of sci-fi news from the Horizon, and Suspicous0bserver shows us solar activity that’s totally hot!! Oh wait, speaking of hot, Chuck Tomasi from Technorama is in the house!
Did you love the Cosplay video??

I only have time to listen – not watch – Slice of Sci Fi, but you folks seem to have forgotten that you have a large (I’m guessing a majority) group of audio only listeners. I listen in the car during my commute.
Every week there seems to be more and more video content that is extremely boring on the audio version.
I’m giving up. I’ll watch when I have the time to just sit.
And, I’ll be ending my monthly contribution, since I won’t be able to view/listen often enough to justify.

ALibertarian: We haven’t forgotten those that still receive their SoSF content via audio only. However, we are in a time not unlike the transition between radio and Television back in the day. There was a time when radio was IT and it was a huge success beyond the imagination of anyone’s predictions. All of a sudden the entire world was available to anyone with the turn of a dial. Those early pioneers in broadcast radio were the giants – RCA, NBC, & CBS. When TV came on the scene those in the radio biz just knew it was a fad & would never catch on over radio and millions of radio listeners agreed – AT FIRST. However, we all know what happened and now it is happening again, this time via the internet.
SoSF was one of the few pioneers of podcasting. We were one of the first to bring podcasting audio from the basement of a hand-full of early adventurers and turn it into a professional news and entertainment venue that is today simply the accepted norm – just like radio was in the 1920’s-1950’s. But, like those days a new kid is on the block – streaming video – and it is the future of content on the internet and we at SoSF, like the pioneers we have always been, see the handwriting on the wall and once again have set out to ensure that professional news and entertainment content remain the focus of our programming however and whatever the method of production. Just as radio is still an important part of human culture, so podcasting will remain one of those elements for internet presentation, but, its glory days, like those of radio, have past. We recognize that fact and like the RCA, NBC and CBS of early broadcasting, we too are moving more and more into the future and that currently is videocasting. We hope all our current fans and contributors will hang in there with us because, as we laid one of the main foundations for podcasting, we are now doing the same with video production and when that day comes when video is replaced by whatever is next (holographic presentation?) you can be assured SoSF will be in the forefront and continuing our efforts to elevate the medium to highly professional production.
