“World War Z” Sequels?!?

“World War Z” Sequels?!?

June 21, 2013 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

World War Z hits theaters today but actor Brad Pitt is already thinking the film could be a franchise.

The actor said that the Max Brooks book, from which his recently released film was adapted, still has plenty of material for a follow-up.

“There is enough to mine from the book,” Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter. “We could barely get a fraction of the book in. So we’ll see. We’ll see.”

The actor declined to comment on whether he would return for another zombie action film.

Director Marc Forster was, however, more cautious about the idea of continuing the franchise.

“Let’s see how this goes,” he said. “We hope this movie goes well, and we shall go from there.”

Nah, they ruined it as soon as they chose fast zombies. Slow zombies means drama, fast zombies means action. Zombies work best for drama. 28 Days Later was good, because somehow, the beginning was full of drama (the ending not so much, and therefore not as good).

No one should strive for horror when making anything to do with zombies, because if you do things right, horror will be a given. What you should strive for instead is drama, hence why slow zombies are better. Fast zombies can work, it’s just that most directors can’t pull them off correctly, and since I saw a tsunami of zombies in the trailer, it doesn’t take a genius to know where this film goes.
