Will the Droids Be in the “Star Wars” Sequels?

June 11, 2013 By Mike Hickerson 1 Comment

c3poWe know that Han, Luke and Leia will be back for the next Star Wars movie.

But what about the popular droid double-act of C3-PO and R2-D2?

We haven’t heard any indications that they will return for the next installment.

Bleeding Cool went to actor Anthony Daniels to see if they could find out if his character would come back. Daniels said that he’d have to go on “an urgent diet” to get back into the costume for the popular character, but that he hasn’t officially been contacted for the sequel yet.

“What I always say to that is “Wait and see.” Let’s keep the suspense going,” Daniels says. “You will recall I’ve always had a rather discreet attitude, or a professional sense of discretion. I don’t blab things about the script. I think that would be very unprofessional, or childish. Let the films, stories and so on unroll as they should, when the audience first sees them… or, strangely, when they buy the tie-in novel some months before the film comes out.

Of Course J.J. will have them in there. Just think of all the Lens Flare you can get off 3PO’s shiny metal body.

    SHINY!
