Brannon Braga, who wrote ST:TNG, sold a 13 episode series about witches called “Salem” – but which network bought it? There’s a Doctor Who Shocker that has fans in an uproar because they were “told” one thing and on there actually happened! BBC launches three nights of UnDeadness In The Flesh, We say goodbye to a valuable author, and Game of Thrones viewers are doing the Holy Crap Dance book readers did before them, plus there’s some weird stuff happening on the Sun!

Re:WGN, WGN is a superstation-a term coined I believe by Ted Turner for TBS back when he launched it as a nationally distributed channel on cable. WGN is owned by Tribune Broadcasting, one of the largest independent broadcast station groups in the country. Tribune stations were the core station group Warner Bros partnered with when they launched the WB network. Syndicators also line up major station groups when launching syndicated shows-Hercules, Xena and Legend of the Seeker were aired on WGN and the other Trib stations. In fact, Seeker was cancelled because Tribune entered in bankruptcy, and decided not to renew it for a 3rd season in spite of high ratings. BTW, after Time Warner bought Turner Broadcasting, TBS was converted to basic cable net-because FCC regs prohibit cable systems from inserting local ads into any broadcast tv station’s transmission. So Braga’s new show being picked up by WGN, shouldn’t be seen as something weird or strange.
