Former Doctor Who companion Karen Gillan has joined the cast of The Guardians of the Galaxy.
Gillan will play the lead female villain in the upcoming movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Further details on the role are being kept under wraps.
The movie is in casting mode, with Glenn Close joining the roll call earlier this week. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista lead the cast of Marvel’s space adventure movie, which has Lee Pace and Michael Rooker as villains.
Gillan played popular companion Amy Pond and is currently starring in a couple of independent films.
