There seems to be a trend in theater lately to take unlikely premises and set them to music, such as Titanic(1997). There are others but the latest in this trend is a new musical based off Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World.
This past Friday (May 3rd) they held a Pre-Broadway workshop reading of the work according to Playbill.com. Directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller, with musical direction by John McDaniel. Word is that they are looking for an official opening sometime in 2014.
So what do you think? Would you go see it? If it is a success will we see 1984: A New Musical in the future?
