A recently aired episode of Family Guy has been pulled from Hulu and the Fox web site in the wake of recent events in Boston.
The episode called “Turban Cowboy” aired March 18 and the plot involved Peter accidentally blowing up a bridge by dialing a terrorist’s cell phone.
After Monday’s bombing of the Boston Marathon, the clip was edited and posted on-line. The new version shows the cell phone scene placed immediately after an unrelated moment in the episode when Bob Costas, voicing himself, asks Peter how he won the Boston Marathon.
Aside from the confusion prompted in people unaware that the clip is a hoax, it’s drawn criticism from those involved with the show.
“The edited Family Guy clip currently circulating is abhorrent,” creator Seth MacFarlane wrote on Twitter. “The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims.”
MacFarlane was retweeted by other members of the Family Guy team, including Seth Green.
The clip, which has already brought in a recorded 109,250 views on YouTube, has also been removed from YouTube.

On a somewhat related note Syfy has pulled their upcoming (April 27th) original movie ‘Stonados’ from their schedule because it was a disaster movie set in Boston. No word yet on when it will be rescheduled for.
