Angry Birds creator Rovio Entertainment and NASA have teamed up to produce “Angry Birds Space Encounter” at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL.
The exhibit, which opened on March 22, will run for the next 1 ½ years and is designed to lure young people to the cosmic wonders of math and science.
Angry Birds Space Encounter was first dreamed up aboard the International Space Station by Astronaut Donald Pettit.
The exhibit starts with a design your own Angry Bird and play-the-game stations where kids learn about the concepts of, in a round about way, parabolic trajectories, hyberbolic trajectories, and elliptical trajectories, all of which astronauts use in space flight.
The exhibit is just a short walk from the soon to be opened Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit.
