Actress Emma Watson has found that Cinderella’s glass slipper doesn’t fit her after all.
Watson was considering taking the lead role in Disney’s live-action reboot of the classic fairy tale, but has decided to not join the production, Variety reports. Watson is not the first actress courted for the role. Gabriella Wilde, Saoirse Ronan and Alicia Vikander have also been in conversations to take the lead role but a deal couldn’t be worked out due to scheduling and other considerations.
The production has already cast Cate Blanchett as the Wicked Step Mother and will be helmed by Kenneth Branaugh.
That doesn’t mean that Watson is done with fantasy roles. She’s already committed to Guillermo del Toro’s Beauty and the Beast which begins filming later this year.
