Mickey Mouse is getting back to his roots. The popular animated character will be the centerpiece of a series of 2D animated shorts set to debut across several Disney platforms later this year.
According to Variety, Disney will produce nineteen new short films featuring the animated icon. The shorts will debut on June 28th and audiences can catch them on various Disney cable outlets and Disney.com.
Mickey will be joined in his new adventures by familiar faces like Donald and Minnie Mouse.
The series of shorts is described by Disney as “fresh and contemporary” while “at the same time [an] homage to the art direction and storytelling of Walt and his animators in the 1920s and ’30s.”
Fans can catch a preview of the short on Disney’s web site.

You won’t find me disagreeing with you. I never liked the Disney shorts, plus Bugs Bunny is My Hero.
