More “Star Wars” Rumors Emerge

More “Star Wars” Rumors Emerge

February 7, 2013 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Another day, more rumors about the Star Wars franchise.

With news that spin-off films in the Star Wars universe are coming our way, we’ve heard that one of those films could center on a young Han Solo and Boba Fett.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that both characters, which have become fan favorites over the years, will be getting standalone adventures as part of Disney’s push to crank out a steady stream of Star Wars movies

The Han Solo film will “focus [on] the wisecracking smuggler’s origin story,” while the Boba Fett flick will put the masked bounty hunter “at the center of a rogue’s gallery of galactic scum.” Both projects are early in the development cycle, but it seems they’re pretty likely to move forward.

The stories would reportedly fit in the existing six-film timeline, with the Han Solo standalone falling between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. The Boba Fett story would apparently take place either between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, or between Empire and Return of the Jedi.

Meanwhile, we’re also hearing rumblings of director J.J. Abrams could cast a former Fringe cast member as the villain in Episode 7.  We’re hearing buzz that Abrams is pursuing actor John Noble to play the lead adversary in the upcoming sequel.

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, so we’ll treat this one as a rumor — for now.  But we ask you –do you think it would be cool to see Noble as the villain in the upcoming film?
