DC Comics has expanded its digital content. Starting yesterday, the comic book publisher has begun releasing issues to e-readers.
Titles from the comic book publisher including Justice League, Bat Girl, Green Lantern, Fables and American Vampire, among scores of others, are now available on all major e-bookstore platforms including Kindle Store, Apple’s iBookstore and the Nook Book Store, DC announced.
“As e-readers and tablets continue to explode in popularity it’s important for us to offer consumers convenience and choice in how they download digital comics and graphic novels and these new distribution deals with the top three e-bookstores do just that,” DC Entertainment co-publisher Jim Lee said. “We’re very excited to work with Amazon, Apple and Barnes & Noble to bring best-selling DC Comics and Vertigo periodicals to their e-bookstores.”
With the move, DC Entertainment becomes the lone comic book publisher to offer its periodical lineup across all major e-bookstore platforms and comes a year after DC Comics launched The New 52 when the company released the issues day and date in print and online, offering multiple download options.
