The 300 sequel will have to go on without Gerard Butler.
According to MTV, the actor has decided he will not reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 300: Battle of Artemisia.
“Oh yeah, I’m not doing it,” he said. “They’re filming [the ‘300’ sequel] right now. I wish them the best, but it didn’t [work out]. It wasn’t really my thing.”
“I’ve heard that I’m in the script. I’ve heard things, I’ve seen things,” he said. “I honestly don’t know what’s going on … I have to see a script and talk with them more.”
The sequel is currently ramping up production and is scheduled to hit theaters in August 2013.
Seriously… a sequel. The film was good, but it was a standalone film, you can’t make a sequel OR a prequel, or even an interquel. Sigh, I probably won’t watch this in fear that it would spoil the first film.
