Director Bryan Singer still wants to bring Battlestar Galactica to the big-screen.
Singer says the project is moving forward and that he’s seen the script from writer John Orloff.
Singer tells IGN the film will fit well between the original 70’s version and the recent Ron Moore helmed reboot.
“It will exist, I think, quite well between the Glen Larson and Ron Moore universes, but that’s all I want to say about it,” Singer said. “But it’s evolving quite well, and quite recently. I’ve been developing this for a while, and certain things came to fruition recently, and I hope to do it.”
“I have a script that’s in revisions right now, and it’s very cool,” Bryan Singer said about the John Orloff script.
I’m not against this per se, but I do think it’s way too soon.
His statement that it will exist quite well between the two kind of gives me hope that it will be a story bridging the two series. It would be cool to see them do something with the other colonial survivors beating back the last of the kill humanity cylons and rebuilding while the red stripe cylons go off and revolve the reptilian cylon race that eventually wipes the colonies out again.
Have to agree with Arkle…this is way too soon. Personally if they were going to do a new one I’d prefer moving forward from where the Ron Moore version left off. They could go anywhere from there since they left it open as to whether the citizens of earth would repeat their past mistakes. Then again it might be best just to wait 20 years and reboot.
I also agree with Arkle and Mich67 – way too soon! There are also plenty of other shows and comics that can be rebooted “Buck Rogers”
