Director John H. Chu isn’t toying around. The G.I. Joe: Retaliation director is in conversations to direct a big-screen reboot of Masters of the Universe.
Based on the Mattel toy line from the 80’s, the movie would be the second cinematic appearance for He-Man, Skeletor and company. The first was the campy classic featuring Dolph Lungrin as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor that came out in 1987. The film was a flop at the box-office but has gained a cult following on home video.
Rumors of a new Masters of the Universe film have been circulating for the past several years in Hollywood. But given Hollywood’s current fashion of putting any toy on the silver screen, odds are that a new He-Man movie could happen in the near future.

I’m happy for everyone who looks forward to this. Even though this wouldn’t be my type of film, I’m glad for anyone who is a big fan.
