Could we see a live-action Avengers series on our TV screens in the near future?
Yes and no.
Deadline reports that ABC and Marvel Studios are in the early stages of talking about a weekly series set in The Avengers universe. The series would have a tie to the big-screen franchise, but wouldn’t include any of the characters seen in the summer blockbuster.
According to Deadline, the series could be a high concept cop show where “the connection to the Avengersfranchise would be light as the project is expected to be set in the universe and feature some of its themes and feel.”
Of course, until we hear something official this rumor should be taken with a huge grain of salt. In the past, we’ve heard stories of potential series based on Marvel properties that never got past the idea stage.
